About George Minakakis

My business career has always been in the real world. I’ve led organizations at every stage of their life cycle—from startups to large succesful brands, and underperforming companies that needed a turnaround. My roles as CEO, Country Manager, Vice President, and Director have taken me across Canada and around the world, where I’ve been responsible for strategy, execution, and results. I’ve built companies internationally and pursued acquisitions of mid-sized and large companies in Canada and invested in startups that are building the next generation of businesses.

I’ve written four books and am widely recognized as an international thought leader on leadership, strategy, and the future of business. My work brings together boardroom experience, global perspective, and a practical understanding of how economies, organizations, and communities actually function.

I have formal training in corporate governance and have served as a board director, vice chair, and chair in both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations as well as a utliity. More recently, I stepped forward into public service and now serve as a councillor in the Town of Milton, bringing the same discipline, deep financial accumen, leadership accountability, and long-term thinking to my community that I have always demanded in the companies I’ve led.
