The world is changing, here’s why

The world is changing; here’s why. The problem is, you may not like the answers. And who is at the root of the problem? You are about to find out. Demons are always lurking in our human lives. Just as we get out from underneath the struggle of the pandemic, the demagogues of distorted truths and voodoo economics rise to change the world. Who gave them permission? We did the humans who stopped believing in science. It can’t be that we made the wrong strategic business or career choices. It must be a government that created the pandemic, inflation, and higher interest rates. Some wizards believed the true purpose of the pandemic and shutting things down was to control and break society to make them subservient; unbelievably, the masses believed it.

This is what stirs society when the economy gets challenging. A lie is better than the truth. And the truth is often twisted because we are in reality engaged in a celestial dance in a global economic ecosystem and its music is faster than we can think and move.

It is a mistake to think that changes are crafted by some wizard behind a curtain or that life will be some Shangri-la power and that we will not be impacted by anything.

Canada, the US, Europe, and the UK haven’t been in the comforting confines their own borders economic safety nets for over 50 years. Why? Because it no longer worked. And up to 7 months ago the world was rising out of the pandemic. Instead a vision one that is less inclusive of other nations is our future it adds not just little mayhem it adds a lot and the new reorder an intricate balance that has kept Peace for 80 years has begun.

Is globalization a broken policy? Yes, it was frayed but the solution needs to be better than just making one nation wealth and disrupting all others. If anyone thinks that this will be a peaceful transformation then they need to upgrade their history.

The world is changing with artificial intelligence, the most disruptive technology we have created, which I believe will last thousands of years, and it is also upon us.  Countless estimates suggest job losses in different fields, but I believe it will shake up, or should I say wake up, all of us that we will need to be more competitive and effective in the workplace to remain relevant and in demand. That means each of us must retrain on how to use this technology, which includes automation, and relearn how to work in teams and not as individuals. It won’t be AI that costs jobs; it will be our own unwillingness to evolve or believe it’s the government’s fault and they have to fix it. Then, of course, there is the global division of ideologies from within nations and between them. Using a new weapon of disinformation and basically twisting news and facts to inform those who disagree with science, data, and events. It’s getting so bad that even Arthur Conan Doyle’s character Sherlock Holmes would be disappointed because his thesis, “When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth,” will not cut it in this world of disinformation. Regretfully, it may take a hard and dramatic lesson to stop this because the problem is beyond having an opinion; it is simply allowing lies from liars who wish to unravel the world of civility and law and turn innocent people to rebel on the streets or worse. But not before we give up more power to angry men and women who have vengeance that drives their populist motives. The world must change, and they don’t want to hear why!

In the Western world, Peace may surprise you, but it is an illusion. Our streets are generally safe; we can watch our kids play baseball or hockey without fear of attacks. But that illusion masks that there are over 100 conflicts globally, from all-out fighting between nations, civil wars, and rising militias instilling their values in societies, gangs taking over cities and island nations.

No we are not a peace and all of these and other threats of military actions such a China taking over Taiwan are triggers waiting to happen. Yes Peace is a rich nation’s illusion and the ignorance of not educating ourselves with facts. When we don’t understand how the world can have so many economic disruptions. All you have to do is read legitimate news wires and open your mind to understanding.

All of these, the reorder of trade, Artificial Intelligence and automation, misinformation, global issues, and skirmishes, are converging on one another all the time. Our only recourse is to try to understand facts from fiction. But the writers of these blended stories of facts and fiction are masterful, and they have an agenda. It is to validate your worst fears and have you send them money.

In the final analysis, the world is changing. Here’s why? And it will change with our permission or without it. The biggest impact of globalization, for example, was the loss of factory work. To say the owners of these companies did not know what they were doing would be misinformation. Putting the blame entirely on the government is also misinformation. What many may not understand is that trying to reverse course will come with a lot of unwanted changes and risks. But it is my opinion that the old guard of politicians, not because of age but because of their beliefs, that how things used to be is better for all. No, it isn’t. Not for future generations.
